North Mountain

USA> Phoenix>

Overview

hike2.5int

This hike loops over North Mountain and Shaw Butte, the two main summits in North Mountain Park. You'll enjoy a quiet valley, cardio climbs, scattered saguaro and big views from the summits and secondary viewpoints. The descent from North Mountain involves some steep, rough, slippery single track. Otherwise the route mostly follows dirt or paved roads, allowing for a quick pace. The scenery can feel a little drab, but overall it's a solid workout with satisfying views. Go early to beat the heat.
