Piestewa Peak

USA> Phoenix>

Overview

hike3.0int

This hike climbs Piestewa Peak then loops through Phoenix Mountains Park. The climb to the summit is strenuous and crowded. There are switchbacks and crude steps but steep slopes and rough footing make for slow going. You're rewarded with saguaro, dramatic terrain and commanding views from the top. Most people return straight to their cars from the summit, making for a short and intense workout. For a longer hike, loop around the peak then back along one of several trails through the middle of the park.
