Duma Point - West

USA> Moab> Duma Point>

Overview

hike3.5adv

This hike explores the west end of the canyon complex surrounding Duma Point. You'll enjoy hours of slickrock, a lofty rim with continuous clifftop views, ridges and gullies, multicolored sandstone and a fun sense of adventure. The general idea is to trace the rim but various routes are possible. There are spots with vertical exposure that can be detoured around if preferred. The rim is rarely visited but you may see traffic on nearby jeep and ATV trails. There's no shade so bring plenty of water.

Getting there

Planning your trip

open accessdogs welcomemar - nov4WD vehicle

There are no major obstacles requiring high clearance to reach the trailhead, but there are some rough patches and several sandy stretches that can get squishy. It's best to have 4WD, or at least to have the means to bail yourself out if you get stuck in soft sand.
