Overview

hike4.0adv

This hike takes you from Geyser Pass to the summit of Manns Peak, the second highest point in the northern La Sal Mountains. Along the way are meadows and valleys, pine and aspen forest, a steep climb up an open grassy ridge and great views of Moab and the surrounding mountains from the summit. There's very little scree, making for easier going than most La Sal summits. The hike can be shortened by driving further on Geyser Creek Road, or extended by continuing on to Mt Tomasaki or Dry Peak.

Geyser Pass Road is heavily shaded by trees just west of Geyser Pass. This section can be impassable to highway vehicles as late as June-July due to snow cover. It's a good idea to check with the Forestry Service and ask about road conditions.
